Group courses overview
Group courses, which consist mainly of
classes with 6 to 8 students, are designed for those people who cannot or do
not want to spend a fortune on learning English and mastering the knowledge and
skills necessary to pass the IELTS exam. The classes are held at the institute
in the mornings and afternoons. Afternoon classes are much more popular than
morning ones. Although there is the possibility of attending morning classes in
case there is enough demand. There are a handful of options for class times.

All group classes have a similar syllabus.
The main difference between them is the timing of classes which makes them have
different durations. The syllabus of terms is depicted in the following table:

The first term mostly covers the basic
topics of grammar, part one of the speaking module, section one of the
listening module and the basic topics of the reading skill.
The second term mostly is concerned with
the part two of the speaking test, the second and third sections of the
listening module, the first task of the writing module and the intermediate
skills of the reading module. The grammar classes cover the necessary topics
needed for all the skills taught throughout the term.
The third term, which is the most fruitful
term for the student, is mostly about the third part of the speaking test, the
fourth section of the listening test, the second task of the writing test and
the final skills necessary for mastering the test taking strategies in the
reading module. The grammar in this term is concerned with the different types
of complex and compound sentences.
The fourth term is all about testing skills
and the necessary knowledge a student must have in order to pass the exam with
a band score of 7. The grammar covers more advanced topics in English. As for
the rest, in each skill the student will learn more advanced topics and will
also take sample tests in order to master the exam taking tips and tricks.
How much English do you need to know?
We expect our students to have a basic
knowledge of English in the level of their high school English courses and the
course specific English they study at the university. Although passing a few
courses of general English in different institutes is an asset for the student.
If you have passed a full course of English in other institutes, it is a wise
measure to take a seating exam in order to determine your competency in English
and put you in the correct level.
How many terms do you need to pass?
Based on the overall score the student
needs, they have to take different number of terms. For an overall band score
of 5.5 to 6 they need to pass three terms and for the band score of 6.5 to 7
they have to pass four terms in order to be eligible for our guarantee terms
and conditions.
Guarantee terms and conditions:
We guarantee the overall band score of the
participants in our classes. It means that we guarantee they will be able to
pass the IELTS exam with their desired band score if they follow a special code
of conduct. Our terms for the guarantee are as follows:
1-
The
student must not be absent from classes more than three sessions in each term.
2-
The
student must do their homework and assignments exactly and completely which
will be assessed by the tutors.
3-
The
student must pass the quizzes and the final tests of each term in each
discipline with an overall mark of 85%. For those who cannot pass them at their
first attempt, there is an opportunity to take the quizzes or the final test in
two weeks after the exam.
As for the first term, there is the option
of make-up classes for each student. They can attend the same class they missed
with other classes.
If a student cannot pass the exam with the
desired overall band score after attending the full course and following our
terms, we guarantee our courses in either one of the following ways:
1-
We pay the
student half the tuition fee they had paid. or
2-
We hold free
classes for them to make them ready for a reseat exam. These classes will
continue until the time we are satisfied that the student is completely ready
for the exam.
